Custom Work: The Starflyer 59 Posters

I’ve been a long-time fan of #Starflyer59. I actually got my first taste of Jason Martin’s music via his previous band Dance House Children (with his brother Ronnie). Dance House Children (or DHC) was more of an electronic music project, though, according to the liner notes on the second album, they were heavily inspired by “The Scene That Celebrates Itself” aka #SHOEGAZE!

The first time I heard “Silver”, the first #SF59 record, I actually wasn’t sure if I liked it. Luckily, the band was touring on the release of that first album and I got to see the show. The live set was short, but loud and full of feedback! The vibe was awesome and from that moment on, I was hooked.

Getting into Starflyer 59 lead me into all kind of #shoegaze music, and for that I’ll be eternally grateful.

I decided to make myself some SF59 posters after being frustrated that I couldn’t find any to buy. Since I am an artist, I put my own spin on them, making them small minimal works of art. So far, I have done 7 commissioned posters for the first 6 albums and two EPs.
